What sparked your interest to start your business: The Community Connection

“I never knew about it!” That’s the excuse businesses and organizations dislike the most, especially when they are doing their best to get the word out about their events, products and services. There is a wide gap between (1) Effort to promote events, products & services, and (2) participation and purchasing of those goods & services. This directly affects the circulation of the dollar within a community. The gap was identified after multiple conversations with community leaders about the state of the African American community. The Community Connection was formed to fill that gap and circulate the dollar within the African American community and beyond. Their mission is to economically improve culturally diverse communities by effectively and efficiently connecting them together. Their vision is a culturally diverse economy that positively impacts the quality of life for every person.

What is The Community Connection and what are the benefits to joining?

The Community Connection connects Vendors, Affiliates and Customers together simply and effectively in order to circulate the dollar in the community. Vendors get opportunities to have Affiliates promote their tickets, products & services, and everyone gets paid automatically in the process.

What are the services that your Company provides?

Vendors get their own online storefront, list their physical & digital products, appointments, memberships, subscriptions and paid tickets to events. They can also choose the communities they identify with, set their own affiliate commissions, and receive daily payouts from sales. Affiliates can promote products from any specific communities they choose, get residual commissions on referred vendor sales, and receive daily payouts from their promotion efforts. Customers can buy from store fronts in any specific communities they choose, sort by business owner type, demographics, regions, category, city, state, zip code and radius search.

What are some of your core values and how do you use them to help others?

The Community Connection’s core values are Leadership, Spirit, Mind, Body, Love and Work. This is directly reflected in how they treat their Vendors, Affiliates and Customers. Everyone can expect to receive friendly face-to-face virtual communication, follow up phone calls and listening ears to help navigate through any issues.

What are your five year and 10 year goals for your company?

The Community Connection is poised to command 10% of online vendor sales nationwide (as compared with Amazon’s 37% and Shopify’s 6%. They are also planning to expand their services to include auctions, quotes, and listings for realtors and employers.
 

What’s next for you?

Matthew loves cinematography and desires to eventually pursue that as a passion.
