Brooklyn-Born Designer Donnie Daynja Brings Handpainted Fashion to Life

Brooklyn native Donnie Daynja is making waves in the fashion world with his innovative handpainted designs. His love for art began early, rooted in drawing and painting, which eventually evolved into a passion for fashion. “Drawing and painting were an important stepping stone toward becoming a designer,” says Daynja.

He honed his craft at Wood Tobe-Coburn College in Manhattan, earning an associate’s degree in fashion merchandising. In 2012, he gained hands-on experience interning at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the Isaac Mizrahi Showroom, laying the foundation for his own creative ventures.

That same year, Daynja launched his clothing line, Sinn For A Reason (SFAR), which quickly became known for its distinctive handpainted pieces. Beyond fashion, he explored the world of cosplay, embodying the comic book character Miles Morales/Spiderman between 2018 and 2020. Attending New York Comic Con, he collaborated with cosplayers and models, gaining valuable experience in styling and photoshoots.

In June 2024, Daynja unveiled a new logo for SFAR, called DEMUN, which he handpainted onto denim garments. He also created video advertisements to showcase the brand’s releases, highlighting both the craftsmanship and creative vision behind each piece.

Daynja’s work has already caught the attention of the music industry. In April 2025, R&B singer Jeremih wore SFAR jeans in the “Superstar Status” music video featuring Bobby Shmurda, further solidifying the brand’s presence in contemporary fashion culture. Following this, DEMUN shorts were released on June 11, continuing Daynja’s tradition of blending art with wearable fashion.

Always active in the cultural scene, Daynja recently attended the “Pass The Aux” event, connecting with other creatives and industry professionals. With his unique approach to handpainted clothing and his growing influence in music and pop culture, Donnie Daynja is a designer to watch.
