Mr Warbucks Making Moves From ATL To Rhode Island !!

The 35 year old with the swift rhymes and catchy hooks goes by the stage name of Mr Warbucks. Born Yakessa Sapeu on May 3rd,1985 in Boston,Massachusetts to West African Parents from Monrovia,Liberia Mr Warbucks always knew being a rapper was what he wanted to do in 1987 his parents left Boston due to high crime and relocated the family to Atlanta,Georgia where at the age of six years old Mr Warbucks started a rap group called inside out the group didn't last long.

Mr Warbucks father was incarcerated so due to that Mr Warbucks mother uprooted her and the kids to Providence,Rhode Island. Mr Warbucks got into trouble a lot and got locked up more then a few times,but rapping was always his first passion and being in trouble a lot was not going to stop him.Now that Mr Warbucks is a man he is ready to take the world by storm and show that his talent is undeniable. Where did you grow up and what was it like growing up there?

I grew up in Atlanta until the age of 13. we then relocated to providence R.I. While living In Atlanta I got in a lot of trouble, so I started playing sports to keep me occupied and away from the gang activities in my neighborhood. when my father was incarcerated and sentenced to 20 years, at the young age of 11 my mother ultimately moved to providence R.I to be closer to family.

How did you get into your music career?

I started rapping at 6 years old. The first time I recorded in an actual studio was at the age of 12, that’s when I started taking it serious by making demos with 4 songs on it and handing it out to my friends and neighbors.

How long have you been writing for indie artists and what is your creative process when writing music?

I started writing for artist in 2017. I wrote a song that was out of my comfort zone it had a r and b feel and people took a liking to it. afterwards independent artist from San Diego to Columbus Georgia started reaching out for me to write and it’s been on going ever since.

What was your experience like being a headliner at the House Of Blues in Boston as a independent artists?

Man the is a highlight in my career. I was able to take full control of 1 of the biggest venues in the country I was able to reach out to independent artist in New England to join the show and open up with me and everything turned out great and they energy was outstanding.

How did you feel when you found out you was going to have your own Pandora station? and when you heard your song Champagne and Hennessy on the radio for the first time?

I actually was listening to young thug station and my song played. I was confused I had to take like 8 pictures to make sure it was real, then I went and typed my name in and sure enough my station popped up. The first time I heard my song on the radio my cousin in North Carolina FaceTimed me driving and showing me I was in rotation.

How do you find new ideas to create write great music?

It just comes natural with life experience and close friends and family situations. like I wrote a song on my upcoming EP named just sitting, and it’s talking about making music and finding ways to generate money to create the music, because that’s what was going on at that moment. So it’s just natural.

Who are your musical influences, and who would you love to go on tour with when the world opens back up?

My musical influences is music I love music it’s my therapy.As gas as touring I would go on tour with jay-z you know I gotta reach high but I’ll go on tour with anybody whose hot and creating there own lane.

How would you describe the music you typically create?

I make mood music my music is direct right to the point. I try to keep it fun but I speak for the streets.

where do you see yourself in 5 years what are your goals between now?

I’m currently working on starting a business of my own. I want to make it a family own business something I can give to my kids.with gods grace everything will be in perspective in 5 years.

What do you like to do outside of music what are some of your other passions?

I coach little league baseball it’s almost like giving back. I’m trying to give the inner city youth help and guidance it’s definitely a passion of mine.
