Bernice Morris Advocate of Social Change in Providence

Bernice Morris, a dedicated community advocate, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Her journey in community service began in 1992, and she holds a degree from the School of Social Work at Rhode Island College. Bernice serves on the board of directors for Time To Advocate and Women's Healing House. Her years of work in adult education and workforce development resulted in her being appointed to both the Career Adult Pathways Advisory Committee of the Governor's Workforce Board and the Providence/Cranston Workforce Investment Board, where she serves as the Chair of the WIOA Committee.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Bernice received the Top Community Supporter Award by Bliss Gives in 2022 and the Women's Support System Award at the Remi TV Influencer Awards in 2024. Since 2014, she has held the position of Senior Director of Education, Employment, and Training at Crossroads Rhode Island. Additionally, Bernice served as Policy Advocate for Black Lives Matter Rhode Island.

Outside of her official roles, Bernice actively supports the community by always showing up. She extends her assistance through sharing resources and information that connects rising entrepreneurs, small business owners, non-profits, and the greater community.  As the Director of Operations at the Rosa Parks Resource Center, Bernice plays a crucial role in supporting organizational development, grant writing, partnerships, and community programs. Her steadfast dedication to community betterment is evident in her multifaceted roles and impactful contributions.
