In a bold new release, Latino artist FACEvsIT unveils his latest single "Dime Tu," a Spanglish love song that masterfully evokes a sense of nostalgia. Featuring contributions from THX Beats and Shelly, the track is a unique fusion of sounds that resonates with a broad audience. The music video further enhances this nostalgic feel by paying homage to iconic moments from beloved movies, including Spider-Man's famous kiss, The Notebook, and Grease. Fans are already singing praises for the single's heartfelt lyrics and evocative visuals, marking it as a standout addition to FACEvsIT's discography.
FACEvsIT's music is known for its eclectic mix of sounds and unconventional instruments. When asked about his creative process, he shared, "My music is a complete reflection of how I grew up. The sounds I incorporate are all from references I show my producer THX Beats, and he brings the soundscape to life."
Navigating the balance between staying true to his unique sound and appealing to a wider audience is no small feat, but FACEvsIT embraces this challenge. "I believe that whatever is authentic to myself will be felt by others like me. As a Latino in Los Angeles, the roots I have and the street influence of LA are something many can relate to, even if not from the same Latin American country or city. Like Ice Cube says, 'Every hood’s the same.' At the end of the day, good music is universal."
Influences play a significant role in FACEvsIT's music and sound design. "A lot of my musical influences come from the sounds I heard in my house growing up and the music my uncles and friends listened to from the hood around me. These influences include Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Oscar De Leon, La Sonora Dinamita, Julio Jaramillo, and, of course, rappers like Tupac, B Real, Big Pun, Nas, Immortal Technique, Eminem, and MC Magic. I believe you can hear a mixture of all of this in my music."
Experimenting with both digital and analog sounds presents its own set of challenges and rewards. FACEvsIT acknowledges the seamless integration of these realms is thanks to THX Beats, saying, "Honestly, when it comes to the soundscape and the mixture of it, I owe it all to THX Beats. He deals with all the seamless integration, and I get to have fun rapping my different styles on top of the soundscape he makes."
As an artist who consistently pushes the boundaries of traditional music, FACEvsIT hopes to convey a powerful message through his innovative soundscapes. "I think the most important thing I want to convey to my listeners is to be true and authentic to yourself and create what you like. The rest will all follow."
With "Dime Tu," FACEvsIT continues to break new ground, blending genres and evoking emotions that resonate deeply with his audience. This latest single is a testament to his commitment to authenticity and innovation in music.
